Title:  Application Engineer- Remote Work

General Summary:

Application Engineer position in the Precision Coils business unit with primary responsibilities assisting the sales team with application questions, working with the customer to ensure manufacturability of orders, presentations, design of orders, and providing input to the business unit based on customer encounters.

 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

 
  • Provide technical support via phone and e-mail for both internal and external sales people in the areas of product selection and application.
  • Develop solutions for product applications
  • Communicate solutions for unique applications including design & special pricing.
  • May travel to resolve field problems.
  • Find solutions to field application problems.
  • Provide general product application support.  Understand requirements for challenging applications.
  • Provide content for the development and updating of product literature.
  • Responsible for identifying key selling points.       
  • Gather information for market studies.
  • Design orders for manufacture
  • Become familiar with the competitor's products and apply this knowledge to the company's advantage.
  • Organize and present training seminars internally and externally.
  • Conduct product training.
  • Use PC Select to assist internal and external customers on a daily basis.
  • Evaluate internal processes and softwares to identify and implement efficiency improvement opportunities.

 

Job Qualifications:

  • Engineering Degree – Mechanical preferred
  • 3-5 years of work experience is required
  • High level of analytical proficiency
  • Strong leadership abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and ownership for solving problems and delivering on customer commitments
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical people
  • Available to travel up to 25% of the time for field commissioning and/or troubleshooting work

 

Work requires a professional level of knowledge in a specialized field, which is equivalent to that which would be acquired by completing a regular four-year college program. Design Software experience desired (Inventor and Autocad). HVAC and Heat Transfer experience and/or education is a plus.
