General Summary:

Directly supervise maintenance personel. Support corporate objectives by continuously improving machine availability and reliability while preserving superior product quality, safety, and employee relations. Support all facility and IT related needs and issues.  This role will also serve as site EHS (envornomnetal, healthy, and safety) focal.


Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of maintenance planning and scheduling with the development of a weekly schedule for planned maintenance activities. Execute the weekly schedule adjusting as required. 
  • Coordinate quick, efficient response to equipment breakdowns or other emergency work orders.
  • Give daily direction to the maintenance team. Provide technical leadership by answering inquiries and assist with problem solving. Coordinate communication with team members across all shifts to ensure smooth transitions between shifts.
  • Assure workmanship meets corporate quality standards.  Conduct routine audits of completed work orders to assure work standards are upheld and documentation is thorough and accurate.
  • Utilize the CMMS to manage all maintenance activities.
  • Maintain electronic spare parts inventory and order parts and supplies as required.
  • Assure mechanics have the required training and skill sets for the work being performed. Continuously cross-train the maintenance team members to enhance skill and development (develop a cross trained work force).
  • Ensure that all Maintenance Excellence practices, policies, and procedures are followed.
  • Be a member of the Safety Team and perform monthly safety training. Ensure safety practices are executed, including the use of protective equipment as required. 
  • Maintain work areas to meet or exceed company housekeeping and 5S safety standards.
  • Complete routine administrative tasks such as approving time and attendance, reviewing the vacation schedule, etc.
  • Provide technical consultation with others in the organization concerning process operation and capabilities.
  • Stay informed of new developments in maintenance and safety technology and implement as required.
  • Proactively support continuous improvement activities and directly support facility operations.
  • Provides assistance on daily facilities operations activities and maintenance contractors.
  • Provides assistance with the coordination, work direction and communication for daily facilities operations activities and maintenance contractors. Including maintaining records and contracts, coordinating project activities.
  • Primary contact for security matters related to facilities and operations. Responsible for coordinating the maintenance and repair of security, access control and fire alarm systems, and any other environmental, health, and safety risks.
  • Manage hazardous waste program, negotiate contracts, and ensure compliance with government guidelines, and arranging for transportation of waste from the facility.  Plan and manage various recycling programs for the facility. 
  • Work with corporate/building owner to manage facilities which includes planning and managing the security and maintenance for the facility using corporate resources as appropriate. Secure approval for major expenditures. Manage the maintenance and service requests needed in the facility as well as respond to building security alarm calls.  Arrange & manage contracts for services required.  Approve invoices related to Maintenance Services for payment.
  • Establish safety policy with the help of corporate resources.  Serve as advisor to all Safety related committees, plan & execute required annual and periodic training necessary, and ensure legal & safety compliance at this facility. Respond to accidents & injuries as needed and work with leadership team to determine RCCA.
  • Manage near miss, first aids, and recordable metrics & tracking for site; work with team to develop safety observation program, proactive safety measurements, JSAs and compliance requirements, including OSHA and EPA regulatory compliance resource.
  • Manage other EHS reporting, as required
  • Provide support for IT projects and coordinate IT related issues with the Helpdesk.
  • Perform daily inspections on propane, oxygen, acetylene tanks, valves not tampered with, fire extinguishers, etc.  Responsible for implementing inspection policies and reports.








Job Qualifications:

  • Work requires extensive technical or specialized training such as that which would be acquired in the first two or three years of college or technical school
  • 3-5 years of maintenance experience is preferred
  • EHS exposure is preferred
  • Good PC skills are required, experience with Microsoft Office products
  • Good communication and strong organizational skills
  • Must be detail oriented, have the ability to multi-task, and able to work independently
