General Summary

The Production Supervisor (3rd Shift) directly supervises manufacturing operations. Other responsibilities consist of supporting net sales objectives by striving to continually meet or exceed production plans, schedule attainment metrics, productivity goals, and other key performance indicators while maintaining superior product quality, a safe work environment, and positive employee relations.

 Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Direct supervision of hourly production employees; monitors work performance issues, maintain appropriate records, prepare and conduct attendance and work performance reprimands.
  • Prepares and conducts performance reviews for Team Leaders and production personnel
  • Answers daily inquiries and assists in solving shop floor issues; addresses non-performing employees and work teams effectively
  • Achieves productivity goals and communicates necessary staffing adjustments to attain them
  • Supports procedures and works with Material Specialists to ensure inventory is properly managed and accounted for.
  • Maintains work areas to meet or exceed company 5S and safety standards
  • Ensures a safe work environment through active involvement with safety team(s), enforces safety policies and safe work practices, and assures all employees have required safety training
  • Assures that employees are thoroughly trained in their production role and properly assigned on a daily basis
  • Supports and participates in continuous improvement activities
  • Coordinates with engineering on issues in the production area
  • Other duties, as assigned

Qualifications

  • Between 1-3 years of work experience, required
  • Associates Degree, preferred
  • SAP experience, preferred
  • Continuous improvement training
  • Previous quality and safety management experience

  • Effective time-management
  • Must have the ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Ability to work in a flexible work environment and adapt to change quickly
  • People-oriented and capable of successfully motivating and directing employees
