General Summary:

We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer Specialist to join our organization. This person will be responsible for programming and optimizing fabrication equipment, process improvements, and a high level of customer service through the conception, development, and implementation of new or improved manufacturing processes, equipment, tooling, material flow, plant layout, or product design. CNC Programming responsibility through daily implementation of prepared schedules that will maximize labor and machinery efficiencies and overall plant capacity.

 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Daily CNC programming on both legacy standalone equipment and new highly automated equipment
  • Coordinate Efforts with company programming resources to identify best practices and maintain programming consistency
  • Become a super user for the programming needs in SAP, drawings and related supporting software
  • Identify and implement improvements to material utilization and machine efficiency.
  • Be proficient on the CNC equipment to do trouble shooting, technical support and identify improvements
  • Coordinate and implement training initiatives to support CNC Programming & Fabrication Equipment
  • Purchase and implement tooling and equipment to support daily operations.
  • Develop processes, procedures and supporting documentation to enhance cost, quality and customer service while ensuring safety and compliance with government regulations.
    • Major drivers include productivity, material utilization, value engineering, lead time management, schedule attainment, and improved throughput.
  • Recognize and propose design changes to improve manufacturability.
  • Provide summarized data to influence key management decisions relating to budgeting, staffing, and capacity planning. 
  • Participate in Lean initiatives and process improvement teams.

 

Business Unit Specific Duties & Responsibilities:

This position involves programming and learning to operate a new highly automated fabrication system and could require at least 10% travel to support a secondary operation and training.

 

Job Qualifications:

  • An Associate’s Degree in an Engineering Discipline is required with 0-3 years’ work experience, or a non-engineering bachelor’s degree.
  • Basic AutoCAD and project management skills required.
  • SAP experience is a plus.
