General Summary:

The Material Analyst is responsible for directly executing the receipt of purchased and manufactured parts and material.  Other duties consist of maintaining accurate inventory records and reconciling inventory discrepencies and determining root cause.  Analyst will oversee daily cycle counts and maintain Red Tag/Return area; maintain organization and general housekeeping of all inventory-related areas; and provide day to day production support to manufacturing.


Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with plant scheduling and materials manager to identify and resolve key material issues preventing customer on time delivery and schedule attainment.
  • Coordinate stocking requirements with materials manager.
  • Monitor and ensure accuracy and timely receipts of inventory manufactured and purchased parts executed by hourly inventory control employees.
  • Ensure the availability to manufacturing areas of parts and raw materials to ensure production delays do not occur, through organized stocking, labeling, and proper inventory relief of purchased and manufactured parts. Research and proactively resolve differences.
  • Execute daily release of production to value stream.  Reconcile constraints.
  • Prepare and deliver shop floor paperwork related to the warehouse management and inventory management function.
  • Coordinate and execute cycle counting activities.
  • Maintain accurate records on Red Lines and Red Tag/Return Areas.  Completing adjustments to inventory in system accordingly.
  • Process Kanban counts and place orders accordingly.
  • Coordinate with materials manager quarterly and annual full inventory counts and reconciliations.
  • Oversee the functions and duties of material handlers.
  • Provide and/or direct training to new team members as necessary.
  • Other duties as seen appropriate by management.


  • Job Qualifications: 

  • Work requires a professional level of knowledge in a specialized field, which is equivalent to that which would be acquired by completing a regular two-year college program.Between 1-3 years of work experience is preferred.

  • Moderate analytical ability required.  Any analysis requires breaking down of information to determine its elements, historical comparisons, interpretation of data to identify trends in situations where the problems are somewhat complex.Familiarity period of 7-12 months.

  • Physical Requirements:

    The physical demands described here are a representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand on their feet for a minimum of eight (8) hours per day; bend, climb, balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch. The employee must continuously lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more. Also requires, continuous lifting, kneeling, pulling, bending, etc.


    Work Environment:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud throughout the workday. Safety requirements for this position are safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toed work shoes.
