General Summary:
Actively monitor and control material inventories for the plant to ensure that the proper goods movement transactions are performed in a timely manner. Review material inventory control parameters, error reports and physical inventory count to provide the required inventory levels for production activities.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Work with hourly personnel assigned to inventory areas to maximize the efficiency with which received inventory is stocked.
- Determine optimum locations for inventory and oversee the physical storage activities while maintaining company safety and housekeeping standards.
- Work with Schedulers and Purchasing to maintain adequate but lean levels of inventory.
- Accountable for reviewing incoming manufactured and purchased parts for quality and adequate quantity
- Work with material handlers to assist in resolving questions to allow for the timely entry of purchased and manufactured receipts.
- Perform cycle counts to verify accuracy of inventory records.
- Monitor the need for manufactured and purchased parts according to the production schedule to anticipate inventory shortages and make corrective recommendations.
- Execute defined inventory transactions and reports to ensure the perpetual inventory is matching the physical inventory.
- Gather information and report out on weekly on 4DX report out
- Execute transactions, as required, to provide material movement documents to the shop floor
- Order nonproduction supplies for the office and shop
Job Qualifications:
- Work requires extensive technical or specialized training such as that which would be acquired in the first two or three years of college or technical school.
- 3 through 5 years of progressively more responsible work experience is required.
- Moderate analytical ability required. Analysis requires breaking down of information to determine its elements, historical comparisons, interpretation of data to identify trends in situations where the problems are somewhat complex.
- Familiarity period of 7-12 months.
- SAP experience is not required but considered a plus
- Must have the ability to work to in a flexible work environment and adapt to change quickly
