General Summary:

The Applications Engineer shall perform a wide range of activities as needed including but not limited to: technical phone & email support, applications support, root-cause problem analysis, training for internal & external customers, and data analysis. Strong communication, organization, leadership, and project management skills are required to excel in this position.


Principal Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Provide technical support via phone and e-mail for both internal and external customers
  • Develop solutions for product applications
  • Identify trends (calls, product defects, etc) and communicate to the appropriate team for resolution in order to improve product quality, and customer satisfaction while reducing call volume
  • Develop/conduct technical training classes
  • Travel to customer job sites as necessary
  • Identify and implement process improvements.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform mental tasks such as making decisions, learning, thinking rationally and exercising good judgment
  • Work with design engineering to develop scope for enhancements on existing products.
  • Evaluates components for quality, reliability and performance and advise engineering and purchasing as to those components which might enhance the product
  • Utilize tools such as MS Word, Excel, Power Point, CRM, Fortis and SAP
  • Ability to work regularly and dependably in a team environment



Job Qualifications:

  • Engineering Degree – Mechanical preferred
  • 0-3 years of work experience is required
  • High level of analytical proficiency
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and ownership for solving problems and delivering on customer commitments
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.  Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical people
  • Available to travel up to 25% of the time for field commissioning and/or troubleshooting work
