Engineer Intern

General SummaryAssist in the design of products to enable business unit products to be manufactured and assembled to meet requirements for cost efficiency, product quality and customer service.  Assist engineering team by participating on cost reduction and quality improvement projects for custom air handling equipment designs.  Use Autodesk products to create factory SOPs.  Use collected data to find trends for focus on process improvements throughout cross functional teams. 

 

 

  • Conceptualize, design and develop, in coordination with other product development personnel, new and changed products, parts, machinery or tooling.
  • Prepare layout and detail drawings and bill of materials on new design requests.
  • Improve manufacturing efficiency by improving work methods, labor standards, material flow, and routings.
  • Work with shop floor personnel and design engineers to decrease costs, increase production, reduce waste and refine product design.
  • Develop standard operating procedures for various manufacturing processes.  (SOP’s)
  • Provide analysis data to improve efficiencies and change processes.

 

Typical Projects:

  • Data collection and interpretation using Excel/Atlassian Jira software
  • Implement new components and SOPs for proper factory installation
  • Implement process improvements
  • Test new products and components
