Your Opportunity:

As the EHS Specialist in Greenheck Group, you will focus on managing the cyclic aspects of our workers compensation program. You will be the point of contact for team members, healthcare providers and our WC insurance carrier throughout the injury management process. In partnership with the Regional EHS Managers, Global EHS Director and EHS Risk Analyst, you will help execute the overall objectives of the EHS strategic business plan, aid in coordination to all business units and may assist with regulatory compliance for applicable EHS regulations at federal, state and local levels. You will collaborate and partner with facility leadership to help address concerns and leverage key elements of a sustainable safety culture across Greenheck Group.


What you’ll be doing:

75% of role

  • Serve as the EHS point of contact for our Greenheck Group team member, health care providers and our workers compensation (wc) carrier to triage workplace injury and incident investigations, as well as manage reporting system.
  • Manage confidential matters pertaining to team member injuries, incidents and reviews supportive medical file information related to causation, work-relatedness and investigations
  • Direct records reviews or independent medical examinations based upon evaluations
  • Formulate work-relatedness opinions of injuries on behalf of Greenheck Group
  • Coordinate with team members and business partners on possible early return to work options to prevent loss time cases
  • Maintains good working relationship with insurance carriers, understands when subrogation recoveries are possible by appropriately engaging involved parties at the right time
  • Help investigate incidents and ensure CAPA’s are complete to minimize future exposures and proper cords/documents are maintained


25% of role

  • Support continuous improvement of EHS function by assisting in development and delivery methods for EHS training and EHS portion of new hire orientation
  • Assist Regional EHS Managers for ad hoc projects and support with regulatory agencies (OSHA/DNR/EPA), assist with revisions of policies, procedures and practices in EHS
  • Maintain internal and regulatory reporting including data collection, reporting of annual OSHA logs
    May serve as secondary or tertiary contact for regulatory agencies as determined necessary
  • Keeps informed of relevant safety & environmental law or regulation changes
  • Participates in meetings to discuss workplace safety & regulatory concerns as well as from time-to-time assist informing plant managers & supervisors of opportunities to help influence safe behaviors
  • Collaborates with team members regarding loss drivers and assists with supporting functions targeting controlling and containing BU associated costs


Somethings we think you should know:

  • Up to 10% travel required
  • This position can sit in one of two locations: Schofield, WI | Minneapolis, MN
  • This position could report to our Regional EHS Manager or our Global Director of EHS. Reporting structure will be determined during the interview process.


What you should have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in EHS, Risk Management, Occupational Health Nurse or related and 3-5 years experience in manufacturing environment or experience with safety/health/workers compensation
  • Associates degree in EHS, Risk Management, Occupational Health Nurse or related field and +5 years experience in manufacturing environment or similar with safety, health, workers compensation application with any one of the following applicable current licenses/designations/BCSP certifications as an OHST, ARM, RN, or CSP required
  • Proficient computer skills – various cloud-based applications and Microsoft Office
  • Professionalism

  • Ability to perform special projects, stretch assignments
