Position Summary:
Greenheck Group is currently hiring a Fabrication Intern for the summer of 2023 for 1st shift in our Minneapolis, MN location. Fabrication Intern pay starts at $21.37/hour. The primary function is to process sheets of raw material through the machines to produce high quality flat blank components and prepare loads of components for downstream operations
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

Efficiently inject foam resins in panels and doors and prepare for use in downstream operations at an acceptable level of quality.

Ability to operate the Punch Press and Foam Press Machine.

Excellent math skills
-
Ability to distinguish the various thicknesses and types of material
-
Ability to use Caliper and thickness gauges
-
Ability to use Foam Cavity thickness go/no-go gauges
-
Attention to detail
-
Ability to read and understand blueprints
-
Ability to recognize the correct tooling for the machine to perform the correct job.
-
Ability to communicate effectively verbally
-
Ability to operate a forklift and material handling equipment
-
Ability to complete paperwork required by operations
-
Basic computer skills
-
Ability to read measuring devices
-
Ability to use basic hand tools
-
Perform daily housekeeping tasks.
-
Be adaptable enough to learn the necessary functions in a timely manner and perform them within accepted output and quality levels.

Must follow standard safe practices that apply to all activities.
Job Qualifications:
-
In addition to a HS/GED
-
Must be enrolled in a college, university, or technical school
-
Basic math, reading and computer skills
-
Experience reading a tape measure
-
Experience reading blue prints
-
Previous experience in sheet metal manufacturing, farming or the military is a plus.

Applicants must be able to work overtime as needed.
Physical Requirements of the Job:

Ability to move/lift 50 lbs.
-
Ability to stand for a minimum of 8-12 hours a day.

Requires frequent lifting, routine bending, leaning, reaching, kneeling, etc.

Wear the necessary PPE for the position.
