Position Summary:

Greenheck Group is currently hiring a Maintenance Intern for the summer of 2023 for 1st shift in our Minneapolis, MN location. Maintenance Intern start at $28.33/ hour. This position is responsible for performing routine and extensive range of work in the repair and general maintenance of building and equipment

 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on building and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment.
  • Assist in GPS pit stops (Kaizen events).
  • Create new or replacement parts for various machines via existing fabrication equipment.
  • Assist manufacturing engineers in specifying required repair parts.
  • Utilize maintenance software daily for prioritizing work and recording results.
  • Participate in training as required by new processes and equipment to safely perform maintenance and operate.
  • Perform daily preventive maintenance and housekeeping (5S) of own work area and tools.
  • Operate material handling equipment as needed based on safety guidelines.
  • Other miscellaneous duties as needed.

 

Job Qualifications:

  • In addition to a HS/GED
  • Must be enrolled in a college, univeristy, or technical school
  • OSHA 10 Hour Certification preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Standing for a minimum of 8 hours daily.
  • Continuous lifting, climbing, kneeling, pulling, bending, etc.
  • Moderate level of concentration and analytical ability with a high focus on safety and quality.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and written.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools, power tools, and read measuring devices.
  • Basic math and computer skills required.
  • Ability to safely operate equipment (material handling equipment).
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints/drawings and equipment owner manuals.
  • Exceptional problem solving and time management skills (work independently).
  • Understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical schematics and controls.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment.

 

Physical Requirements of the Job:

  • Ability to move at least 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for 10-12 hours a day.
  • Wear the necessary PPE for the position.
