General Summary:

 

This position is responsible for performing a routine and extensive range of work in the repair and general maintenance of technical manufacturing equipment. This position is also responsible for providing leadership to others involved in machine and equipment maintenance and repair. 

 

This position will have a rotating schedule on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift for training purposes for no less than one (1) year.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Troubleshoot and repair highly technical equipment including consultation with external service departments (equipment manufacturer)
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on building and equipment
  • Assist in creation, audit, and training of MSLPs (machine specific lockout procedures)
  • Lead or assist in GPS pit stops (Kaizen events) focused on maintenance excellence
  • Create new or replacement parts for various machines via existing fabrication equipment
  • Assist manufacturing engineers/Maintenance Supervision in specifying required repair parts
  • Utilize maintenance software daily for prioritizing work and recording results
  • Participate in training as required by new processes and equipment to safely perform maintenance and operate
  • Daily preventive maintenance and housekeeping (5S) of own work area and tools   
  • Operate material handling equipment as needed based on safety guidelines
  • Other miscellaneous duties as needed

 

Job Specifications:

 

  • Preferred 2 or 4 year degree in Electromechanical, Electronics, Automation or related field       
  • Minimum of 5 years of prior maintenance or automation experience required
  • OSHA 10 Hour Certification preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
  • Standing for a minimum of 8 hours daily
  • Continuous lifting, climbing, kneeling, pulling, bending, etc.
  • High level of concentration and analytical ability with a focus on safety and quality
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and written
  • Ability to use basic hand tools, power tools, and read measuring devices
  • Basic math and computer skills required
  • Ability to safely operate equipment (material handling equipment)
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints/drawings and equipment owner manuals
  • Exceptional problem solving and time management skills (work independently)
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical schematics, CNC controls, PLC, and relay logic
  • Understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to lead troubleshooting and repairs of equipment
