Title:  Welder - Summer Production Internship

Position Summary:

Greenheck Group is currently hiring a Welder intern for the summer of 2023 for 1st shift in our Minneapolis, MN location. Welder Intern pay starts at $23.18/hour. The primary functions are to layout, fit up, and weld various assemblies to be used in the construction of our air handling equipment.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

• Ability to read blueprints
• Ability to distinguish the various thicknesses and type of material
• Push, pull, and weave welding skills
• Ability to set up and operate equipment effectively and safely (welder, torch, plasma cutter, grinder)
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally
• Ability to read measuring devices
• Ability to operate a material handling equipment
• Strong attention to detail
• Basic computer skills
• Perform daily housekeeping tasks.
• Be adaptable enough to learn the necessary functions in a timely manner and perform them within accepted output and quality levels.
• Must follow standard safe practices that apply to all activities.

Job Qualifications:

• In addition to a HS/GED
• Must be enrolled in a college, university, or technical school
• Basic math, reading and computer skills
• Experience reading a tape measure
• Experience reading blue prints
• Previous experience in sheet metal manufacturing, farming or the military is a plus.
• Applicants must be able to work overtime as needed. 

Physical Requirements of the Job:

• Ability to move/lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand for a minimum of 8-12 hours a day.
• Requires frequent lifting, routine bending, leaning, reaching, kneeling, etc.
• Wear the necessary PPE for the position.
