The Application Developer Team Lead will be responsible for building, maintaining and supporting our internal and external applications.  This role involves both direct contribution in developing Greenheck’s solutions, as well as leading the development team through coaching and mentoring.


As the Application Developer Team Lead, you will be responsible for:


  • Directly supervises others. Provide mentoring, coaching, performance feedback for direct reports or others in application development area.
  • Creates and updates application coding and documentation standards.  Makes recommendations for new methodologies. Trains others on standards.
  • Ensure quality standards are met for all development including internal, offshore and outsourced development initiatives.
  • Lead group through the testing and solution process including the creation of the solution, development of budget and describe/sell chosen solution.
  • Build strong relationships with direct reports, peers, management, and customers.
  • Communicate complex technical information to varied audiences in a manner that they are able to understand.
  • Communicate business value of solutions effectively in terms of ROI, sales growth, and other key business drivers.
  • Effectively train other technical professionals on complex technical materials.
  • Act as a liaison for communication and management of outside contracted resources when used.
  • Develops, modifies and maintains application software that supports internal and external business processes of Greenheck that may be complex or sensitive in nature.
  • Understand and prepare complex technical specifications from which applications will be developed. 
  • Effectively document code that is clear, succinct, accurate, and appropriately detailed.  Troubleshoots complex application issues and provides debugging support as needed. 
  • Responsible for peer code reviews as well as vendor code reviews.
  • Understand root-cause of complex problems, research and propose possible solutions both in scope of Greenheck systems and other available technology.
  • Collaborates with analysts to understand business processes/procedures and solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results.
  • Manage medium to large-sized projects cross-functionally, to establish project priorities and deadlines, and make project resources recommendations.
  • Evaluate and recommend appropriate new application technologies and software development solutions to the organization.
  • Identify and assess multiple alternatives for needed system development and changes and provide a recommendation for a path forward.
  • Provide after hours and on call support as needed in case of outages, job failures, implementations, etc.
  • Provide suggestions and continues to look for and implement ways to improve efficiency and output of development area.  Is an advocate for process improvement and acts as a champion for implementing change.
  • Manage tasks assigned and provide estimated time of completion, working together with a project team by applying project management methodologies.
  • Develop a strong understanding of Greenheck’s business processes.


To be considered for the Application Developer Team Lead, you should have:

  • Minimum of 5 years of application development work experience.
  • Four-year degree in related field or a two-year degree with 7 years of related experience.
  • Proficient in application development with knowledge of C#, HTML5/UI5, Java, ABAP preferred.
  • Familiarity with software development life cycle and project management concepts.
  • Experience with Scrum/Agile methodologies.
  • Good interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Professional communication skills, both written and verbal. 
  • Mentoring and coaching skills and experience.
  • Previous experience with ERP in a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.  SAP is a plus.
