Greenheck Fan is very proud of its involvement in the cooperative education process and is committed to furthering a student's education by partnering them with full-time engineers/employees and providing hands-on experience. All co-op students are treated as "real" employees, as we understand gaining real life experience is key in this relationship.  We have been extremely pleased with the results of the co-op program, and have found it to be a win-win relationship. This role is in our newly developed Automation Lab where we prototype for feasibility a variety of automation challenges to provide proven solutions to the organization.  While the projects are short term and ever evolving a few projects in the que are:

  • Automatically assembling a fan hub with about 20 parts including fasteners
  • Robotically erecting a wide range of cardboard carton sizes with NO changeover between sizes
  • Part separation concepts for automatic loading of bathroom fan parts

These potential projects are harvested from across the organization so you will be exposed to a variety of our products.  You would be primarily doing the basic fixture design leveraging 3D printing, 80/20 modular components or simple machined parts along with learning project management skills as these projects flow through the process.


Desired Qualifications:

  • Preferred majors: Engineering Technology or Mechanical Engineering 
  • Interest in exposure to an ever-changing automation environment where projects are completed in weeks which allows for rapid learnings and application of the learnings. 
  • Has the ability to work collaboratively brainstorming quick-to-implement prototype fixturing concepts on one of our multiple robots in our automation lab.
