General Summary:

Identify, define, manage and track process improvement efforts within the HR department as it relates to payroll and time/attendance systems.  This will include, but is not limited to, defining current business processes, system utilization and the exploration of new processes and tools.  Works to increase productivity and capacity, drive automation, reduce costs, reduce errors and standardize product & processes. The BPI Specialist will be the subject-matter expert as it relates to payroll systems, and will be involved in both current system improvements as well as providing project leaderhship in related system upgrades and implementations.

 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

 

  • Serves as a subject matter expert in payroll design and implementation to optimize existing processes, as well as lead the adoption of new internal and external opportunities.
  • Serves as an UltiPro & SAP HCM expert with deep knowledge of current and potential functionalities.
  • Works with payroll and HRIS teams to develop and prioritize an on-going list of projects. Participates in or leads several projects that relate directly to systems implementation, customer satisfaction, productivity gains and/or cost savings.  
  • Works with HR and IT to define bottlenecks and other opportunities for improvement within the time/attendance and payroll process. 
  • Identifies and understands multiple stakeholders, to recommend process improvements that result in enhancements for end customers.
  • Updates systems in response to business changes, legal updates, or policy/procedure changes. Translates business requirements into system specifications.
  • Provides support and troubleshooting for highly complex technical issues for payroll, time & attendance systems by working with the HRIS team and technical partners to effectively troubleshoot, investigate, analyze and identify support issues and root cause.
  • Prepares reports from HRIS systems for various teams as requested.
  • Develops and maintains a deep understanding of the payroll processes and system; serves as back-up as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Job Qualifications:

Work requires a professional level of knowledge in a specialized field, which is equivalent to that which would be acquired by completing a regular four-year college program, with majors such as business management, industrial engineering, IT, or human resources.

 

Between 1-3 years of work experience is required.

 

  • Ability to manage multiple projects required. 
  • Experience gathering business requirements, documentation and training preferred.
  • SAP HCM or payroll systems experience preferred.
  • High level of detailed analytical skills required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must possess strong leadership skills and excellent customer service skills.
