General Summary:

This position is responsible for supporting the Benefits Manager and leading the Benefits Assistants and Coordinators in employee benefit plan administration, execution and adherence to corporate plan provisions and governmental regulations. Provides customer service support to employees either directly or indirectly through HR partners. Serves as a subject matter expert in company benefits and market trends within the benefits field to optimize existing processes and lead the adoption of new internal and external opportunities to maximize efficiencies.

 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Directly supervise the Greenheck Group’s benefits support team.
  • Provides excellent customer service, assistance and counseling to employees and managers with benefits, health and welfare issues, including but not limited to qualifying life events, COBRA, plan document interpretation, new hire education, retirement and health savings accounts.
  • Reviews vendor effectiveness by developing reports, scorecards and performance standards for benefit vendors.
  • Assists in annual benefits open enrollment process, including planning meetings, system modifications, testing, employee education and supporting HR representatives.
  • Maintains complete and accurate benefits files and records.
  • Stays current on federal, state, and local laws and regulations in order to ensure company compliance regarding new legislation, reporting, and privacy issues.
  • Primary contact for all claim issues and plan document interpretation.
  • Resolves participant and plan-level errors and identifies and implements process improvements and efficiencies
  • Audits and processes vendor invoices.
  • Serves as the subject matter expert for internal and external benefits administration under the general direction and guidance of HR leadership.
  • Performs reporting on a regular and ad hoc basis to complete internal, state and/or federal reporting, testing, and plan eligibility.
  • Develop benefits administration processes, procedures, guidelines and documentation.
  • Preparation of various reports including Form 5500, benefits surveys and plan audits.

 

Job Qualifications:

  • Work requires a professional level of knowledge in a specialized field, which is equivalent to that which would be acquired by completing a regular four-year college program in human resources management, business or communications.
  • 5 years of progressively more responsible work experience in benefits administration is required.
  • Certification/License – Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) is a plus
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organization and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical abilities
