Your Opportunity:

Greenheck Group is looking for a highly motivated Engineering student to work from January - August 2024. In this role, you will assist the AMAST Team, Advanced Material and Strategic Technology, in product development activities focusing on CFD modeling/simulation. A key part of this role is gaining exposure to CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) analysis of turbomachinery (Fan) and applying commercially available CFD software for improving the fan performance and thus impact our business in a positive way. This role will be an asset to future studies and professional careers while also providing an opportunity to learn about our company and culture as a whole


What you’ll be doing:

  • Prepare and clean CAD geometries for CFD analysis.
  • Generate high-quality meshing of CAD models.
  • Perform post-processing of CFD results, interpret data and compile technical reports.
  • Assist in conducting CFD analysis of fan products and HVAC applications.
  • Assist with prototyping and laboratory testing of fan products to evaluate air performance


​​​​​​​What you should have:

  • Enrollment in a related bachelor's or graduate degree program (mechanical or aerospace engineering emphasis preferred)
  • Minimum GPA 3.0
  • Basic knowledge of CFD, Aerodynamics, and Fluid Mechanics
  • Academic project or industry experience (6 months or less) in any commercial CFD software’s (eg ANSYS CFX, ANSYS Fluent, Star CCM, Open FOAM)
  • Completion of 400 level CFD or Fluid Mechanics courses preferred
