General Summary:

In partnership with the communications manager, the communications specialist will lead the development of a project management system for Group Communications and will facilitate the creation, organization, execution, and completion of work for Greenheck Group's communications team. Greenheck Group's communications strategy is a critical part of fulfilling the corporate brand's promise and values with the objective of becoming the employer of choice to current and prospective team members in each of the communities we operate.


Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with corporate management, human resources and finance, the communications specialist assists in the planning and development of company-wide communication strategies to meet Greenheck Group’s stated goals
  • Serve as a consultant/liaison to Greenheck Group corporate and business units for purposes of creating a strategic communications plan
  • Manage media relations and follow up
  • Proofread communications before release
  • Ensure communications stay on corporate brand
  • Create project briefs, ensures tactical alignment on objectives, timing and budgets, and manages projects to the expectations of the project sponsor
  • Lead cross-functional teams
  • Ensure process and communication optimizes project results
  • Meet established deadlines for assigned projects and proactively inform stakeholders of project status and updates
  • Manage the project queue maintaining priorities, timing, and progress reports
  • When external resources are needed, works with agencies to develop, plan, and direct media contracts
  • Oversee implementation of recurring and periodic communications such as:
    • The quarterly company magazine
    • Quarterly Business Reviews (by entity)
    • Employee survey
    • Greenheck Group website
    • Greenheck Group intranet
    • Greenheck Group social media channels
    • Facility communication and signage
    • Recruitment marketing responsibilities 


Job Qualifications:

Work requires a professional level of knowledge in a specialized field, which is equivalent to that which would be acquired by completing a regular four-year college program in marketing communications, public relations, or related discipline.


  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience in marketing or communications role
  • Ability to gather product information and drive projects forward
  • Ability to respond quickly, thoroughly, and accurately to internal and external customer requests
  • Knowledge of current and emerging technology used in marketing communications
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, verbally and in written format
  • Demonstrates resourcefulness and strong interpersonal skills
  • Able to collaborate and work with multiple departments and levels within the organization, including human resources, engineering, corporate marketing, and manufacturing
  • Delivers projects on deadlines, and within budget, leading to business results
  • Leads in project coordination skills with strategic thinking
  • Detail oriented and highly organized
  • Ability to work independently as well as within teams
  • Requires excellent proof-reading, written, and oral communication skills
  • Requires excellent people, problem solving, and consensus building skills
  • Some travel required (10%)
