Performs a variety of Corporate Accounting duties related to financial reporting and the reconciliation of balance sheets, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company’s general ledger, and the financial information derived from it.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for accurate and timely posting of all journal entries, in accordance with Company policy, GAAP and documented controls
  • Responsible for accurate and timely preparation of assigned monthly balance sheet account reconciliations in accordance with Company policy
  • Partners with the Shared Service Business Sponsors to budget, forecast and maintain the overall  financial health of the Shared Service areas
  • Responsible for the preparation and analysis of select operating and financial reports
  • Responsible for accuracy and integrity of select financial reports
  • Responsible for timely and accurate expense analysis and reporting
  • Responsible for identifying and implementing cost-saving and/or time-saving initiatives, as well as identifying alternatives when these options are cost prohibitive
  • Recommends financial actions by analyzing financial data
  • Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents
  • Maintain complete, accurate and up-to-date written instructions for all tasks and responsibilities as assigned
  • Maintains appropriate internal control documentation, as applicable, and adheres to formally documented control procedures, to ensure on-going compliance with Company policies,GAAP, and to prevent any audit exceptions
  • Develops and implements accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures, recommends more efficient processes, and follows those through to completion
  • Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
  • Train/Mentor new team members and serve as a resource for facility and corporate related questions
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
  • Additional duties and special projects, as assigned

Job Qualifications:

  • Work requires a professional level of knowledge in a specialized field, which is equivalent to that which would be acquired by completing a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Accounting with 2 years of experience or an Associate’s Degree in Accounting with 6 years of experience
  • Strong quantitative, analytical and statistical skills
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook. SAP experience a plus
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, organizational and time management skills
  • Positive and professional demeanor, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to interact effectively with a variety of team members in various departments and job levels
  • Additionally, candidate should possess the ability to work in a changing, fast paced environment while displaying teamwork and communication skills.  Candidate must be able to work independently and efficiently, with acute attention to details and deadlines
