General Summary:

Partner with domestic and international business units, reps and customers in application of the company’s credit policy while maintaining and creating goodwill.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

            Domestic Responsibilities

  • Perform credit checks by performing an investigation and analyzing that information as well as information provided by outside credit services.
  • Compare credit check analyses with the customer’s payment history and current account balance with Greenheck to determine current credit status.
  • Release sales orders for shipment or production once a favorable credit status has been determined.  Releases are performed in a timely manner as to not delay shipments needlessly.
  • Provide credit information and resolve credit-related problems with other departments within the company.
  • Negotiate the terms of a sales up front based on current credit status.
  • Learn, apply and provide input to company credit policies and procedures
  • Prepare and distribute reports within the organization regarding credit-related issues and statistics.
  • Telephone contact with manufacturer’s representatives and customers to resolve their credit standing with the company.



International Responsibilities: In addition to the responsibilities outlined above:

  • Manage, analyze and revise letters of credit, direct collection letters and assignments of proceeds.
  • Negotiate appropriate payment terms with new and existing International accounts.
  • Analyze and recommend what letters of credit will need confirmation.
  • Investigate and work out reasonable solutions on potential disputes.
  • Maintain strong relationship with the Internal Sales team and International Representatives.
  • Collect on past due accounts.
  • Participate in meetings when customers and representatives are on site.
  • Manage troubled accounts and work out reasonable solutions.
  • Work closely with managers on exceptions.
  • Be familiar with relevant international news that would affect country ratings.
  • Initiate payment of commissions when requested and approved by representatives.

Job Qualifications: 

Work requires a professional level of knowledge in a specialized field, which is equivalent to that which would be acquired by completing a regular four-year college program.

Between 3-5 years of work experience is required.  Prefer prior experience in credit, exposure to SAP and/or other credit management software.
