General Summary

Assemble and install electrical controls used in machines and tooling systems throughout the company to minimize machine down-time and maximize operating efficiency.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Build and wire control panels, and assist in the wiring of machines.


Create part and wire labels using Brady software and printers.


Support the implementation of new electrical controls by troubleshooting malfunctions at start-up.


Develop written documentation and diagrams/drawings for electrical control panels to be used for maintenance purposes once the machine is operational.  This includes Bill of Materials and schematics.


Support Maintenance Technicians troubleshooting MDC built machines and electrical controls.


Assist product development engineering staff with the design of electrical controls as needed in the design of new products and/or the redesign of existing products.


May occasionally travel to Greenheck remote facilities to assist in supporting MDC built machines and electrical controls.


Job Specifications

  • Work requires technical or specialized training such as that which would be acquired in the first two or three years of college or technical school.
  • Experience using common hand tools and power equipment.  Examples are hand drill, cutoff saws, screw drivers, and wire strippers.


Ideal candidate skills include:

  • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical safe working practices.
  • Ability to work safely with power and hand tools.
