Works with product development engineering in the creation of new designs and the redesign of existing products to complement and enhance product offerings and continually improve quality, minimize production costs and sustain a competitive advantage in the air movement and control industry.

Work closely with marketing/sales and manufacturing on the modification of product designs or creation of special design requests (SDR's)

Assignments are received in the form of project plans or results expected, but employee has considerable freedom to decide work priorities and procedures to be followed.

Specialized skills for these individuals are required at this level. Areas of expertise may include, but are not limited to: electrical motor control circuits, controls, machine design, DFX/DFM, architectural specifications, Inventor , SAP, or testing.

The Designer III must have:

Work requires extensive technical or specialized training such as that which would be acquired in the first two or three years of college or technical school.

Between 3 - 7 years of work experience is required.

Knowledge of Protype assembly and CAD systems (AutoCAD and Inventor Preferred). No knowledge required of the products or systems, such as: SAP but it is STRONGLY preferred.

As the Engineering Design Specialist, you will:

  • Develop new product designs and redesigns in coordination with sales, marketing, manufacturing, and customers
  • Independent judgment must be exercised frequently
  • May participate with agencies associated with certifying products (AMCA, UL, etc.)
  • Creates and maintains drawing files (CAD, PDF and other documentation)
  • Provides leadership, training, and direction to other members of the project team
  • Facilitates the transition from design into production, including any necessary shop training and information required for implementing new or changed designs
  • Emphasis is placed on the procedures and processes required to provide accurate information to the shop floor
  • Participates in the standardization of SDR products, parts, and details
  • Responsible for the development of parametric designs and variant configuration
  • Provide technical consultation internally to sales and marketing personnel and externally to customers
  • Develops bill of materials and translation documents related to SDR new or changed designs
  • Review, along with purchasing personnel, the selection and specification of purchased component parts for product designs
  • Participate in the prototyping and testing of new designs. May be required to set up and run test equipment
