General Summary:

The primary focus for this position is to ensure regulatory compliance with all applicable environmental regulations at federal, state, and local levels in the multiple jurisdictions Greenheck operates within. This position will work on a skilled team with other EHS professionals and closely with site leaders and other technical leads.


Principal Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Manage and keep current all aspects of our environmental compliance calendar to include, but not limited to permit filing, training and record keeping.
  • Produce environmental assessment reports, tabulating data and preparing charts, graphs, or diagrams. 
  • Must perform majority of tasks related to permit compliance, while engaging outside resources judiciously.
  • When outside consultants are necessary; position will manage consultants’ performance and budget.
  • Identify where needed and or work with current contracted site-specific labs to collect and analyze pollution samples, such as air or ground water. Must have the ability to respond accordingly to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Prepare technical correspondences, project proposals, work plans, and project specifications, including cost estimates and project budgets.
  • Manage large and complex tasks to provide technical leadership to ensure internal and external expectations are met for scope, budget, schedule, and quality.
  • Lead the investigation of incidents and ensure CAPA’s are completed to minimize future exposures and proper records/documents are maintained.
  • Conduct routine observations to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies, company policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Provide personnel with comprehensive and relevant information and training on environmental systems and procedures, including advising on equipment purchase and workplace practices.
  • Identify target audiences, design, and deliver pertinent training sessions.
  • Maintain internal and regulatory reporting including data collection and reporting including but not limited to air, storm water and surface water discharge.
  • Ensure the company meets regulatory compliance obligations with federal, state, city, EPA /DNR governing bodies.
  • Serve as liaison for all regulatory agencies
  • Keep abreast of any environmental law or regulation changes that impact the organization
  • Participate in meetings to discuss environmental regulatory concerns and opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with Operations, Plant Managers, Supervisors, and production personnel.
  • Inform plant managers and supervisors on matters relating to, environmental exposures and provide solutions.
  • Travel approximately 20% to regional locations.


Job Qualifications:

  • 5 - 7 years’ experience in manufacturing environment with responsibility for Environmental Compliance.
  • Ability to be on call or work off hours as needed
  • Experience working with local regulatory agencies preferred
  • Knowledge of multi-jurisdictional environmental regulations or ability to learn.
