Your Opportunity:
As an Industrial Engineer for Greenheck you will have the opportunity to focus on enhancing factory productivity, cost reduction and Greenheck’s product quality through the analysis and continued improvement of manufacturing routings, processes, equipment, tooling, material flow, plant layout, methods and product design.
What you’ll be doing:
- Provide technical support to manufacturing personnel to improve workflow and troubleshoot problem areas.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of SAP functionality within the Production Planning (PP) and Variant Configuration (VC) modules.
- Develop and maintain department and work center organization and structure.
- Conduct time studies to develop appropriate labor standards for new and existing products and processes and conduct delay studies to identify process improvement opportunities.
- Write, revise and audit shop routings for new or redesigned products. Utilize if-then logic to establish master routings where possible to minimize ongoing maintenance.
- Write, revise and audit standard work documentation for manufacturing processes and procedures.
- Oversee reporting and accuracy of labor and productivity metrics.
- Develop and track capacity projections for critical machines, work centers and departments.
- Conduct and prepare labor and material cost estimates as required.
- Participate in product redesign and value engineering team efforts to assure cost-effective, producible designs.
- Identify, justify, and procure new or upgrade existing equipment and tooling to optimize capacity, productivity and cost.
- Perform comparisons to determine advantages in producing versus buying component parts.
- Maintain knowledge of technical advancements with the potential of improving the productivity of the Greenheck workforce.
- Identify and rectify processes that are not in compliance with company safety and housekeeping guidelines.
Somethings we think you should know:
- You will spend 50 to 75% of your time on the shop floor
- Will interact and be a liaison to shop team members
What you should have:
Work requires a professional level of knowledge in a specialized field, which is equivalent to that which would be acquired by completing a regular four-year degree in an Engineering discipline.
1-3 years’ work experience is in a manufacturing environment is required.
- Basic AutoCAD and project management skills required
- SAP experience is a plus
- Ability to perform various work measurement studies to improve scheduling accuracy, labor cost accuracy, and identify potential improvement opportunities.
- Lead and participate in new product introductions. Knowledge of DFMA methods, process mapping, facility layout planning, creating manufacturing routes, and change management is a plus.
- Basic to intermediate understanding of lean manufacturing concepts
