General Summary:

Work with designs and redesigns of new and existing products to complement and enhance product offerings and continually improve factory productivity, quality, minimize production costs and sustain a competitive advantage in the air movement and control industry. Enhance factory productivity, cost reduction and Greenheck product quality through the analysis and continued improvement of manufacturing routings, processes, equipment, tooling, material flow, plant layout, methods and product design. Work closely with product development and manufacturing engineering on manufacturability of designs and proof of concepts on manufacturing processes. 


Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to manufacturing personnel to improve workflow and troubleshoot problem areas.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of SAP functionality within the Production Planning (PP) and Variant Configuration (VC) modules.
  • Develop and maintain department and work center organization and structure.
  • Conduct time studies to develop appropriate labor standards for new and existing products and processes and conduct delay studies to identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Write, revise and audit shop routings for new or redesigned products.  Utilize if-then logic to establish master routings where possible to minimize ongoing maintenance.
  • Write, revise and audit standard work documentation for manufacturing processes and procedures.
  • Oversee reporting and accuracy of labor and productivity metrics.
  • Develop and track capacity projections for critical machines, work centers and departments.
  • Conduct and prepare labor and material cost estimates as required.
  • Participate in product redesign and value engineering team efforts to assure cost-effective, producible designs.
  • Identify, justify and procure new or upgrade existing equipment and tooling to optimize capacity, productivity and cost.
  • Perform comparisons to determine advantages in producing versus buying component parts.
  • Maintain knowledge of technical advancements with the potential of improving the productivity of the Greenheck workforce.
  • Identify and rectify processes that are not in compliance with company safety and housekeeping guidelines.


Business Unit Specific Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Support resolution of Bill of Material issues – identify root cause and initiate resolution through the appropriate process
  • Review daily reports for routing and production issues
  • Track and publish Item Activity Notices (IAN) for the business unit ensuring supporting groups complete their assigned tasks on time
  • Support creation or updating of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for the production floor.
  • Write Department Change Notices (DCN) for new or changing work centers and departments.  Monitor the Business Intelligence (BI) Labor Report for changes in department efficiency
  • Candidate must be willing and able to work across business functions to complete assigned tasks and network among peers to develop effectiveness and knowledge of Greenheck products and production system.

Job Qualifications:

Work requires a professional level of knowledge in a specialized field, which is equivalent to that which would be acquired by completing a regular four-year college program in an engineering discipline.


Between 1-3 years of work experience is required.


Business Unit Specific Qualifications:

Proficiency /Experience with SAP

Experience reading prints to create Bill of Materials

Experience using Docuware
