The Manager, Learning and Development is a key role to Greenheck’s learning and development strategies and initiatives. This position provides leadership in the Company’s succession planning and talent development programs, as well as direction and execution of the overall corporate training function, in order to strengthen the organization's capabilities and to ensure it has the talent to meet current and future business needs.

As the Manager of Learning & Development, you will be responsible for:

  • Provides strategic direction for, as well as leadership and execution of, company-wide organizational training and development programs and initiatives.
  • Responsible for the Company’s leadership development programs, including Leadership Academy, Leadership University, Supervisor Excellence, Supervisor Essentials, Team Lead Training, 360’s, and LEAD rotational program.
  • Provides leadership for succession planning, including partnering with executives, management, and human resources to create a robust succession planning process and gap analysis; partners with leadership to accelerate development for high-potentials.  
  • Manages relationships with external vendors and partners, including management of grant programs, to ensure quality partnerships and desired outcomes.
  • Directly or through team, maintains appropriate certifications, including Caliper, Hogan, HBDI, and others as required.
  • Supports Company’s Employer of Choice and other initiatives, including support of regional training initiatives, onboarding programs, and operations leadership development programs.
  • Conducts needs/gap analysis and provides recommendations for improvements.
  • Works collaboratively with business partners to identify, develop and deliver training solutions and manage execution to ensure efficient achievement of business goals. Designs learning objectives, content outline, presentation and training method, appropriate job aides and technology integration. Consults with subject matter experts to ensure relevancy of learning objectives and delivery methodology. Develops, implements, and evaluates the effectiveness of programs.
  • Manages learning and development budget, including tuition reimbursement program.
  • Serves as subject matter expert in Success Factors modules including Learning Connection (LMS), Succession, and Development. Identifies opportunities to utilize technology to drive engagement and visibility.
  • Uses various training delivery methods to enhance employee engagement and knowledge on a variety of topics including job-related/technical skills, leadership, general skills, and personal growth development.
  • Collaborates with HR, managers, and supervisors on mentoring or coaching for employee improvement and/or development. Provides one-on-one coaching as needed.
  • Project manages new training initiatives and projects.
  • Provides leadership and management of learning and development team.


  • Bachelor's degree in related field; additional training and development certifications preferred.
  • Seven or more years of experience in training/learning and development. Strong knowledge of learning techniques and best practices, including needs assessment, adult learning theory, instructional design, presentation, facilitation, and training evaluation.
  • Thorough knowledge of adult learning principles and techniques, including lectures, learning activities, discussions, self-study, computer based training modules, role playing, simulations, learning reinforcement strategies and knowledge checks.
  • Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Strong communication, facilitation, interpersonal, and problem solving skills.
  • High level of motivation: self-starter, ability to quickly organize materials, prioritize and coordinate tasks. Must have excellent organization and time management skills. Must be detail oriented to ensure accuracy and quality of deliverables.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to influence and partner/collaborate with others. Must be highly collaborative and open to multiple perspectives.
  • Training delivery and facilitation experience.
  • Project management experience.
