Greenheck is seeking skilled professionals to join our growing Tool & Die team

 

General Summary:

The Tool and Die Journeyman is responsible for performing work in one of several departments within the facility.  Responsible for the accurate production of parts from engineering prints, including application of tolerances.  Operations include milling, turning, grinding, heat treating, programming of CNC equipment, assembly and try-out.

 

Principle Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Operate CNC and manual Lathes, Milling machines, Grinders and general tool room equipment. 
  • Utilize precision measuring tools.
  • Fits and assembles jigs, fixtures, tools and dies. Sets up, runs off, and tests tools and dies to produce a product to specification.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs machinery and die sets.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints or works from verbal or written instructions or from the part to be copied or fitted.
  • Safety - Comply with all company and federal safety rules, policies and procedures to include wearing required safety equipment (PPE). Respond to safety concerns and taking appropriate action.
  • Be able to perform in a team environment and also be self-directed as situations dictate.
  • Computer - Must be proficient with a computer and have good communication skills.  Proven working knowledge of CAD software is required.

 

Job Qualifications:

  • Work requires extensive technical or specialized training such as that which would be acquired in the first two or three years of college or technical school.

          OR 5-10 years work experience in machine tool operations.

  • Willingness to obtain a Journeyman Tool and Die Maker card sponsored by Greenheck.

 

 

The Tool and Die position is responsible for performing work in one of several departments in the Greenheck Fan Company.  Tool and Die Makers are responsible for the accurate production of parts from engineering drawings, including application of critical tolerances.  Tool and Die Makers operate machines which include but are not limited to milling, turning, grinding, heat treating, programming CNC equipment, EDM, assembly and try-out.

 

 

To be accepted as a Tool and Die Maker Journeyman, the applicant must:

  • Be selected as the most qualified candidate based upon work experience, past education and other relevant factors following an interview conducted by skilled trades employees and management.
  • Be able and willing to successfully complete continuing education classes during regular work hours and during other hours as required.
  • Be able and willing to successfully complete on-the-job training.
  • Be able to work any shift.
  • Lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Be adaptable enough to learn necessary jobs in a timely manner and perform them within accepted output and quality levels.
  • Be able to perform in a team environment and also be self-directed as situations dictate.
  • Have a good understanding of GFC safety standards and follow safety procedures.
  • Have strong computer skills.
