General Summary:

The Greenheck Group is looking to add a Manufacturing Engineer to our team who will be based out of Shelby, NC or Tulsa, OK and will be responsible for coordinating the training for employees in our Shelby and Kings Mountain, NC facility, and our start up facility in Tulsa, OK. This person will also be responsible for optimizing factory costs, quality, and customer service through the conception, development, and implementation of new or improved manufacturing processes, equipment, tooling, material flow, plant layout, or product design.

 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop processes, procedures, and supporting documentation to enhance cost, quality, and customer service while ensuring safety and compliance with government regulations
  • Coordinate and implement training initiatives to support manufacturing including quality and continuous improvement
  • Partner with local organizations to find available training resources, and keep records of training provided to employees
  • Develop, organize, conduct, and manage subject matter training courses that consist of classroom and hands-on training, including new hire, quality, continuous improvement, and ongoing training. Technical training areas include blanking, forming, and joining processes
  • Participate in process improvement teams and value engineering initiatives
  • Specify and justify capital expenditures
  • Purchase and implement tooling and equipment to support daily operations
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for manufacturing processes and equipment
  • Recognize and propose design changes to improve manufacturability
  • Support and participate in value engineering initiatives
  • Identify and implement improvements to material utilization, cell layout, and machinery efficiency
  • Provide summarized data to influence key management decisions relating to budgeting, staffing, and capacity planning
  • Lead Lean initiatives   for both campuses

 

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degreen in an engineering, technical, or related field required
  • Between 1-3 years of work experience is required
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Project managment and organizational skills
  • Available for travel and support to regional facilities 25 - 50% of the time
  • Basic AutoCAD and project managment skills required 
  • SAP experience preferred
  • Basic understanding of Lean concepts, previous experience preferred
