Job Description: Continuous Improvement Leader-Training

 

Title: Continuous Improvement Leader-Training

Supervisor:  Shahzaib Ali

Scope: Campus wide – Oklahoma       

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conducts and organizes manufacturing training for new hire orientation.
  • Conducts and organizes training and provides on-going assistance to new and existing operators (blanking, forming, joining)
  • Coaches/teaches operators on quality expected from our customers.
  • Follows up with those employees who continue to have rework or show up repeatedly on quality audits.   
  • Leads and participates in continuous improvement activities regarding all aspects of welding/brazing including flow, quality, productivity projects and lead time reduction.
  • Identifies blanking, forming and joining safety issues that need to be corrected and assists with corrections.
  • Conduct new welder qualification tests and yearly weld and braze tests.
  • Conducts and organizes GPS training for new and existing team members
  • Facilitate, guide and support the 5S+1 program for the campus.
  • Support Quick Fix events and assist with shop floor opportunities.
  • Facilitate and support Pit stop (kaizen) events and Pit Stop Report Outs for the campus.
  • Work closely with Production Supervisors and team Leaders to ensure their competency in GPS and continuous improvement activities.
  • Apply and communicate Lean principles to optimize quality, productivity, on-time delivery, and operational efficiencies resulting in improved customer satisfaction.
  • Support and develop “best practices” and make sure they are consistently applied throughout the campus.

Qualifications:

  • Must have experience working in manufacturing.
  • Demonstrates technical skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both one-on-one and with groups.
  • Ability to train and coach with others.
  • Ability to organize work and keep records.
  • Computer skills required.
  • Available for periodic movement to alternate shifts as needed to maintain quality and train off shift employees.
  • Available for periodic travel to remote facilities and training courses.
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude.

  • Will be interviewed by Technical Training and Human Resources.
