Your Opportunity:

Greenheck Group is looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Co-op to join our expanding organization as we continually strive to improve operations in North Carolina. This highly motivated engineering student will work full-time from January - August 2024. In this role, you may be given assignments for obtaining and updating operational information pertaining to: time studies, standard work documentation, standard operating procedures (SOP's), 5S opportunities, work cell layouts, design changes for manufacturability or troubleshooting design errors in support of manufacturing and will work with next generation automation equipment. This position will allow you to impact our business while learning about our company and culture. 

 

What you’ll be doing:

A co-op may be solicited to undertake some or all of the listed duties and responsibilities below:

  • Assist with and develop processes, procedures, and supporting documentation to enhance cost, quality and customer service while ensureing safety and compliance with agency regulations. 
  • Using a standard format, update SOP's as needed for process changes. 
  • Participate in process improvement/lean events.
  • Work with production personnel to identify and then manage work cell layout and tool changes. 
  • Define and institute standard work documentation. 
  • Recognize and propose design changes to improve manufacturability. 
  • Manage and implement design changes and communicate with design engineers remotely. 
  • Monitor and record time studies to validate standard work. 
  • Update drawings and 3D model assemblies to help correct any errors being found in manufacturing.
  • Define and update product BOM's associated with changes for manufacturability. 

 

What you should have:

  • Enrollment in a related bachelor's degree program. 
  • 3.0 GPA preferred. 
  • On track to graduate in the next 2 years or less.
  • Strong communication skills required.
  • Basic AutoCAD and/or Inventor skills.

  • Interact and network with the intern & co-op group across the U.S. (about 50 total college students)
  • Be evaluated on your performance with a mid-term and final evaluation.
  • Present your projects and experiences to our company leaders and executives at the end of your term.
  • Participate in Fundamental Fridays - exposure to our business and business leaders. 
  • Have the opportunity to take part in company sponsored volunteering.
